Arizona Criminal Defense Attorney

Biography

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Strong worked for several years as a police officer in Cache County, Utah. During those years, Mr. Strong received extensive training in accident reconstruction and DUI detection. During law school, Mr. Strong worked as a law-student prosecutor in West Valley City, Utah.

Since joining the firm in 1990, Mr. Strong has focused his energies on criminal defense cases. In any given year, Mr. Strong will travel to various counties throughout Arizona and defend both felony and misdemeanor cases at the trial level. Given his background, Mr. Strong brings a unique perspective to some of the more difficult defense cases: alcohol related accidents involving serious injury; domestic violence events; weapons violations; and dangerous crimes against children. Mr. Strong has also defended highly complex white collar and mortgage fraud cases in federal court. Mr. Strong has the distinction of being rated AV® by Martindale Hubbell for providing quality services within the legal community.

Mr. Strong’s expertise is not limited to the trial level. Mr. Strong has written numerous appellate briefs and successfully presented several Petitions for Post-Conviction Relief. In appearances before the Arizona Supreme Court, he has successfully argued cases involving double jeopardy, dangerous crimes against children, and judicial ethics.

Mr. Strong is adept at dealing with the unique issues involving teenage offenders and in keeping teenage offenders in juvenile court and preventing transfer to adult court. For several years, Mr. Strong was a Pro-Tem Judge in the Juvenile Division of the Maricopa County Superior Court.

Mr. Strong continues to hone and expand his criminal defense skills by teaching legal courses for judges and clerks in the Maricopa County Justice Court system. Mr. Strong is currently a Pro-Tem Judge in the tribal courts of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
