Biography
Mr. Sandstrom joined the firm in May 2012 and practices in the areas of personal injury, worker’s compensation, medical malpractice, and general civil litigation.
Before joining Rowley Chapman Barney & Buntrock, Mr. Sandstrom was a law clerk for the Honorable Chief Judge Laurie Smith-Camp in the District Court for the District of Nebraska. During law school, he clerked for the oldest firm in Nebraska and a solo practitioner. He has worked in a broad array of practice areas including: civil litigation, business law, criminal defense, 1983 civil actions, personal injury, domestic violence, sexual assault, insurance defense, and worker’s compensation defense.
Mr. Sandstrom was involved in numerous activities in law school. He was the Champion of the Creighton Trial Competition, a regional finalist in the Texas Young Lawyers National Trial Competition, a member of the Creighton National Trial Team, a member of the Creighton National Arbitration Team, and a member of the Creighton National Moot Court Team. He was an outstanding oralist and best brief nominee in the Creighton Moot Court Competition. He was the Research Editor for the Creighton Law Review Board and a member of the Best Brief Committee on the Moot Court Board. Through these experiences, Mr. Sandstrom has developed quality writing skills and sound oral advocacy skills which provide him a keen aptitude to aggressively and succinctly represent clients in court.
Mr. Sandstrom is happily married with two children. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, playing tennis, running, and playing the piano and bass violin.
Honors, Appointments & Awards
Mr. Sandstrom was inducted into The National Order of Barristers, a top scholastic distinction for those who demonstrate outstanding oral advocacy and brief writing skills.
Mr. Sandstrom received the David A. Svoboda Trial Advocacy Award in recognition of being the top litigator of his graduating class.
In addition, Mr. Sandstrom received the American Board of Trial Advocates Award, issued by Chief Judge William Jay Riley of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, for being the top litigator coming out of law school from the state of Nebraska.
